Milk bottle dating
Saturday 4th October is the date for the second Easton-in Gordano Convention at Easton-in Gordano Parish Hall - 10.20am to 3.30pm.There will be bottle displays, bottles and dairyana for sale, a raffle, an auction, tea, coffee and biscuits.We're also hoping that the Cotteswold Dairy historic vehicle collection will be there for us to see.The convention and tour are open to all Milk Bottle News subscribers - please contact Paul Luke on 01375 679527 or email: [email protected] if you'd like to be there.Seaway Services Ltd of Burnley have kindly agreed to a visit by Milk Bottle News subscribers on Thursday 14th May, one of their bottle printing days, so this is the ideal opportunity to see how it's done!The timetable for the day is: Guided tours at 10.30 and 11.30 Break for lunch (sandwiches and cups of tea and coffee) More guided tours at 1.30, 2.30 and 3.30 The visit will finish at 4.30 Anybody who wishes to bring a display will be very welcome to do so.Members are oncouraged to bring up to 20 of their own bottles for display or anything dairy-related that they wish to sell - we will supply the tables.The convention is open to all Milk Bottle News subscribers - please contact Paul Luke on 01375 679527 or email: if you'd like to be there.

Ecofresh Dairy is a small business upholding the old values by offering milk in returnable glass bottles that can be can be returned, washed and refilled over 40 times, instead of ending up in landfill. Dairy owner Paul Luke explains "Disaster struck a few days ago after we had lovingly wrapped 1,120 of our lovely eco-friendly bottles, including 70 retro ones with printed adverts, to be picked up and sent back to our supplier.
Imagine our horror on hearing a loud crash and finding that the whole lot had been dropped while being loaded!
To celebrate our 25th Anniversary, Roger Workman of Cotteswold Dairy has kindly agreed to give us a tour of his dairy on 25th April 2009.
All Milk Bottle News subscribers are welcome and proceedings will start between 9.00 and 10.00am.
